You may be asking.. Why in the world is there a fee for repurposing? Isn't repurposing just moving floral arrangements from one spot to another?

In some cases, yes, it is simply just moving floral piece(s) to a different location! Hence our repurpose service is optional. We would never suggest clients to add on repurposing services if they would prefer to save money, do the repurposing themselves/allocate the task to someone else (i.e bridal party member, family member, venue staff); and if it were safe to do so.

However, in other instances, repurposing takes more work than it may seem!

To break it down, here is a bullet point list of what the fee covers:

  • Planning of logistics for a smooth execution - Our floral team will be working on a tight timeline. The turnaround time from ceremony to reception is often 1-1.5 hours. We of course want to treat you and your wedding guests with the utmost respect. We typically will not begin repurposing until the area is clear and we will not be in the way of your guests, cutting it down to 30 mins - 1 hour to get all floral pieces to their new location and be out the door by the time of the reception.
  • Payment to staff for the extra time it takes to return to the venue and complete the task (it typically takes more than one person)
  • Travel costs to return to the venue after set-up
  • Simple redesign work to ensure the floral arrangement(s) looks good in its new spot
  • Replacement of floral stems that may no longer be in exceptional condition (i.e wilting due to heat) - With that being said, we will not/cannot redesign entire floral pieces. Logistically, this would not be possible in the time between ceremony and reception and after all, the intention of repurposing is to reduce cost and waste!

FAQ regarding repurposing services:

Does the fee vary for the type of floral arrangement being repurposed?
Yes! Some floral arrangements are simpler to repurpose, therefore, we have different percentages that we go by. See the list below for a few examples:
  • Hanging installations: 50% of cost of floral piece
  • Full arches: 25% of cost of floral piece
  • Floral pillars: 20% of cost of floral piece
  • Ground arrangements: 10% of cost of floral piece

When do we recommend clients to add repurposing services?

  • When it is not safe for others to complete the repurposing (i.e hanging installations, arches)
  • When the floral arrangements that are being repurposed will be exposed to extreme conditions for a long period of time
  • When our couples would like to just not worry about it and designate this task to our floral team!

What are 3 types of arrangements we would recommend our clients to add repurposing services for?
  • Arch arrangements (Unless the venue staff is able to help with this and it is a simple request, i.e from one arch to another)
  • Full floral arches
  • Hanging installations (Unless the hanging installation is easily reachable without the need of a ladder, and it is being repurposed either on a table or the ground)

What are 3 types of arrangements that may not be necessary to add repurposing services for?

  • Ground arrangements (Unless there are 2+)
  • Compote arrangements (Unless they are being repurposed on reception guest tables - If they are going to be directly in front of your guests, you'll want them to be in pristine condition! Doesn’t hurt to have an expert lay their eyes on them before repurposing them in front of your guests)
  • Bouquets

As always, if you have any questions about our services, please feel free to reach out! Fill out our inquiry form or email at blushinggarden@outlook.com to get in touch :)
